Story of This Site
I was looking at a picture of my aunt when she was in her twenties and realized that’s where my nose came from.
In 2023 I was listening to a podcast interview of Darla DeMorrow, owner of Heartwork Organizing. She talked about organizing and scanning photos so print photos can be shared all at the same time with everyone. I’ve been scanning photos for years, it is a tedious task and difficult to accommodate the various photo conditions and keep current with technology. A few months after hearing that interview, I filled my car with boxes of albums, loose photos, scrapbooks and keepsakes and drove four hours to Heartwork Organizers in Pennsylvania. Within a few months over 12,000 photos were scanned and the original photos organized into 6 archival boxes. Afraid to miss a moment, I asked Heartwork Organizers to scan everything, from fuzzy photos to children’s scribbles. The photos and media on this site include snapshots, full portraits, wedding albums, videos and film clips.
Made for Sharing
The purpose of this site is to share stories and enjoy finding your own gems. Please feel free to print and download photos and documents. Videos can’t be downloaded but they will always be available through this site and on YouTube.
Our goal was to scan all photos at a resolution high enough to print an 8×10 copy. This means most photos are scanned at 600 dpi, a few at 1200 dpi, and some of the smaller photos may be scanned at 300 dpi. Any photos that were originally cell phone photos or other digital photos are at their original resolution which is unlikely high enough to to print a photo larger than 4×6 inches large.
